I Bislacchi. A Tribute to Fellini

by Artemis Danza

October 21, 2016, h. 7.30pm

Ciputra Artpreneur Theatre

Tickets available at ciputraartpreneur.com

Artemis Danza, one of Italy's best contemporary dance companies, returns to Jakarta with another captivating performance for one night only.

Bislacchi. A Tribute to Fellini is homage to Federico Fellini, Italianfilm director and screenwriter.

Known for his distinct style that blends fantasy with earthiness, he is recognized as one of the most influential filmmakers of all time.

Choreographer and Director Monica Casadei gives the dance an imaginative and poetic interpretation where movements and imageries are combined to give a vibrant yet dreamy ambience.

The dance will be in two acts.  In the first act, Giorni Bislacchi, the dancers' movements echoes the spirit of Fellini's films with all its humour and energy,

with music from composer and pianist Nino Rota, remembered for his Academy Award for Best Original Score for the film The Godfather Part 2.

The second act sees the dancers moving and inspired by the animation from Fellini's film Il Lungo Viaggio, accompanied by narration fromItalian poet, writer and screenwriter, Tonino Guerra.

In this performance where dance meet movie, audience will be treated to the colours of Fellini's works and the beauty of Casadei's choreography in a style that only the Artemis Danza can accomplish

Fwd: Motion Blue Jakarta: Anastasia Project Great Gatsby Style Tribute

ANASTASIA PROJECT

Anastasia Project was formed in 2006 and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The band was formerly known as Vera & Friends with a smaller music team. The name Anastasia, which means "resurrection," was later adopted as the band expanded and become more solid. Anastasia Project performs a wide variety of music style from classical, jazz, broadway, top 40, and many more with an arrangement that are unique and elegant. Experienced players such as Raymond Tambunan on piano, Anthony Sulistio on guitar, Moko Reinalsius on bass, and Ofel Obaja on drum completed this solid band.

Watch Anastasia Project performs Live at Motion Blue Jakarta as they do a special performance of Great Gatsby style Tribute on the 29th & 30th of September 2016.

Today: Tintin's Ways of Making at Sur Global

Tintin Wulia's Ways of Making in a panel at Sur Global

Ways of Making
touch and tangibility as a relational means

Please tune in to this talk where I am part of a panel
with Leandro Erlich, moderated by Rodrigo Quijano,
live-streamed via
Bienal Sur's website
on Friday, 23 Sep 2016,
6pm Buenos Aires
time.

My part in this panel is the second in my incidental series of Ways of Making talks. The first was delivered last month at RMIT University, Melbourne, and is also available online.

Like my previous Ways of Making, this 15-minute talk is not an attempt to engage with theory. I promise to speak of neither Berger's Ways of Seeing, nor Bourriaud's relational aesthetics, nor Bishop's relational antagonism, nor Latour's Actor-Network Theory.

Instead, I will go through the recurrence of touch in my body of works: empathic touch, immediate touch, evident touch. I will also describe why touch is as important as breaking the fourth wall is for me.

Then, I will clarify this significance further through a reflection on tangibility, contrasting it with tactility. It is likely that at the 15th minute, I will still propose questions, which I hope to revisit in my next talk, whenever that may be.
