> Bagus Pandega's recent practice has been aimed toward creating 'spectacles,' or 'total works of art' by using and thus transforming different media such as found objects, kinetic, light, and sound. Pandega explores mechanical resources that increase the possibilities of a total theatre by alerting the audience and creating a space for involvement and 'experiencing.'

> ROH Projects will be showing a full-room installation by Bagus Pandega entitled Childhood Mixed Fantasy, he employed a customized looping movement mechanism that activates the comb teeth embedded in a series of music boxes: offering multiple tunes auditorily familiar to the viewers, yet progressively acknowledged as sounding random. This installation thus references elementary natural energies in which the unexpected and uncertainty play an important role, especially with relation to the apparent orderliness in the world.

International Mask Festival Ubud 2016

International Mask Festival Ubud 2016 (Saturday, Nov 5th from 11am to 10pm) is a pilot project with the theme Soul of The Mask this year. It is a festival that focusing in mask and its spirit. There will be lecture, workshop, exhibition, bazar and mask performing art from the young artist to the old masters. We are hoping to have this festival as an education and appreciation to public annually. This IMF happens in the similar times in Yogya, Solo & Malang too.

Hail Suzanna, Horror Queen  View this email in your browser Celebrating Halloween, and the birth and death month of Suzanna, the queen of Indonesian horror cinema  Legendary horror actress Suzanna, born Suzanna Martha Frederika van Osch in Bogor, West Java, on Oct. 14, 1942, began her career in acting when she was a teenager in the film Asrama Dara ( 1958 ). She won the Best Child Actress award at the 1960 Asian Film Festival for her performance. She enjoyed a stellar career in the 1970s and 80s through her roles in horror films, most of which are now considered classics, including Bernapas dalam Lumpur (Breathing in Mud), Beranak dalam Kubur (Childbirth in the Grave) and Sundel Bolong. Indonesia knows her as The Indonesian Horror Queen, not just for her acting but also because of her mystic lifestyle. Some have said that she looked young in her old age because she ate jasmine flowers. She retired from films in the 1990s but made a comeback in Hantu Ambulance (2008). However, it would be her final appearance.
