Held during Singapore's illustrious Art Week, which draws in thousands of art collectors from all over the world every year, Mangu Putra's historic show is a highlight not to be missed. This exhibition follows the artist's decade-long research interest in uncovering the stories of Indonesian veterans and the surviving fighters of Indonesia's revolution: a generation of men who have been marginalized by history. Using archival colonial photographs published by Dutch institutions, Mangu Putra re-imagines the pictorial narrative by placing the Balinese people at the center.
