For further information, please send your enquiry by e-mail explaining your event and mentioning the date of event.      CONCERT FILM EXHIBITION ONGOING    UPCOMING EVENTS   SPOTLIGHT     .             for their generous support    August 2016   CINEMA   Don Camillo   This month the Italian Cultural Institute organizes the Cine Club dedicated to the series of Don Camillo.  A series of screened comic tussles in a small town of the Po Valley between a pugnacious parish priest and his nemesis, the Communist mayor, Peppone, portrayed in the popular novels of Giovanni Guareschi.    CINEMA Don Camillo August 5 | 6.45 pm | IIC Jakarta   In a village of the Po valley where the earth is hard and life miserly, the priest and the communist mayor are always fighting to be the head of the community. If in secret, they admired and liked each other, politics still divided them as it is dividing the country.   More > CINEMA Don Camillo e l'onorevole Peppone August 12 | 7.00 pm | IIC Jakarta Bewildered, Don Camillo learns that Peppone intends to stand for parliament. Determined to thwart his ambitions, the good priest, ignoring the recommendations of the Lord, decides to campaign against him.  More > CINEMA Don Camillo Monsignore...ma non troppo August 19 | 7.00 pm | IIC Jakarta Don Camillo is now a bishop, Peppone is now a senator, but their rivalry is as fierce as when they were just a village priest, and a village administrator. Don Camillo learns that Peppone is about to promote the building of a communal house on the place of an old, derelict church, and that spurns the old flame.  More > CINEMA Il Compagno Don Camillo August 26 | 7.00 pm | IIC Jakarta The village of mayor Peppone and Don Camillo, after much dispute, gets a assigned a sister village in Russia. When Peppone and his comrades decide to attend the ceremony on the other side of the iron curtain, Don Camillo wants to join. Peppone is strictly against this but after Don Camillo threatens him to disclose information about an earlier side step the mayor agrees.  More > OPEN HOUSE CINEMA August 5 | 6.45 pm | IIC Jakarta To inaugurate the Cine Club with Don Camillo, the Institute will hold a brief presentation to give an overview of the series Don Camillo.  Don Camillo is a character created by the Italian writer Giovannino Guareschi, based on a Roman Catholic priest, World War II partisan and detainee at the concentration camps of Dachau and Mauthausen, named Don Camillo Valota. Please confirm your attendance to eventi@itacultjkt.or.id   More > EDUCATION Study in Italy & Scholarship August 13 | 9.00 am—3.00 pm | IIC Jakarta Italian Cultural Institute, Jakarta & Uni-Italia Indonesia organize one day dedicated to the Study in Italy.  On this occasion there will be a presentation about Italian Education System by Uni-Italia Indonesia and also information about scholarship to study in Italy.  Several Italian Universities will also participate.  Please confirm your attendance to eventi@itacultjkt.or.id  More > MUSIC Classical Guitar Concert August 18 | 07.00pm | IIC Jakarta Giordano Passini, was born in 1986 and started to study music at 12.  He started with piano and after a year passed to classical guitar. He studied in many conservatories, from the one in Frosinone to the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome.  He has held concerts at various Institution, Festival and Musical Events in Italy and abroad.  He plays a guitar made by the Neapolitan guitar maker Alessandro Marseglia.  "Giordano Passini is a guitarist that deserves attention." Please confirm your attendance to eventi@itacultjkt.or.id   More > ART Artist Talk with Farhan Siki August 25 | 3pm | IIC Jakarta Farhan Siki is having his solo exhibition in the headquarter of Banca Generali Private Banking in Milan ongoing.  During his solo exhibition he managed to sell all of his 26 artworks.  On this occasion Farhan will share his experience regarding the exhibition and his visit in Italy through some videos and photos.  Please confirm your attendance to eventi@itacultjkt.or.id.   More >     ART "Celebrating Murni" July 16--September 18 | Sudakara Art Space, Sanur Bali   The Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta supports the exhibition "Celebrating Murni".  Sudakara Art Space, Sanur's premier art gallery, is taking part with Ketemu Project Space in this year-long project to celebrate the legacy of the art of the late Balinese artist I GAK Murniasih that features a month-long exhibition of selected works from the artist, from 16th July to 18th September 2016.   With legacy of I GAK Murniasih as the focal point, the project has invited both established and emerging artists from across generations. Participating artists from Bali, Indonesia and internationally have been invited to create new work for the exhibition.  One of them is Edmondo Zanolini, an Italian artist based in Ubud, Bali. More > MUSIC VALERIO INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL 2016 August 11-14 | Jentra Dagen Hotel Yogyakarta Indonesia.   The Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta supports the event Valerio International Guitar Festival IV 2016 that will be held 11 – 14 August 2016 in Jentra Dagen Hotel Yogyakarta Indonesia.  There are two Italian guitarists who take part of the event as Jury and performer, Giordano Passini and Cinzia Milani. More >     EXHIBITION 4 projects for development 23 June—31 December | IIC Jakarta The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute Jakarta together with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation organized the exhibition 4 projects for development in collaboration with the Agenzia Contrasto. The exhibition's goal is to highlight the concrete efforts Italy is making in development programs which are an essential part of Italian foreign policy. The exhibition includes images taken by four notable photographers from Magnum Agency: Abbas, Jerome Sessini, Jean Gaumy, and Stuart Franklin of cooperation projects in Ethiopia, Guatemala, Kenya, and Senegal. DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE Vico Magistretti: A Traveling Archive September 8 | 7.00 pm | IIC Jakarta A Traveling Archive takes an in-depth look at Vico Magistretti's creativity through his work with some of the most prominent Italian design companies: Artemide, De Padova, Flou, Kartell, Fontana Arte, Campeggi, Oluce and Schiffini. The exhibition comprises sketches, pictures, notes, letters and faxes, as well as a selection of  Magistretti's most important creations. The exhibition is curated by Rosanna Pavoni, Director of the Fondazione Vico Magistretti in Milan. The exhibition also includes an installation that "recreates" Vico Magistretti's studio in Milan. More > HAPPENING IN ITALY ART Trace an art exhibition by Farhan Siki March 2-September 30 2016 | Headquarter of Banca Generali Private Banking, Milan   The Italian Cultural Institute Jakarta proudly supports an art exhibition by an Indonesian artist, Farhan Siki. The exhibition takes place in the headquarter of Banca Generali Private Banking in Milan from March 2 until September 30 2016.  More > DESIGN April 2—September 12 | the City of Milan TRIENNALE DI MILANO 2016 From 1923 La Triennale di Milano is a cultural institution that produces art, design, architecture, fashion, film, communication and society exhibitions and events.  After twenty years, the Triennale International Exhibition makes a comeback. From April to September a widespread event throughout the city.  The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute Jakarta proudly support three Indonesian architects who participate in these event: Cosmas Gozali, Abie Abdillah and Alvin Tjitrowirjo. More >   ARCHITECTURE May 27-November 27 | Palazzo Mora and Palazzo Bembo, Venice BUDI PRADONO'S PARTECIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL VENICE ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute Jakarta proudly support an Indonesian architect, Budi Pradono, in the framework of the 15th International Venice Architecture Biennale.  Budi Pradono will exhibit his work in the exhibition "Time-Space-Existence" at Palazzo Mora and Palazzo Bembo in Venice, Italy, from 28 May to 27 November 2016.  More >   ART October 13—January 8 | Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Roma 16a QUADRIENNALE D'ARTE Altri tempi, altri miti After eight years the Art Quadriennale is returning to the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in the autumn and winter of 2016 with an exhibition entitled "Altri tempi, altri miti" (Other times, other legends).
