Exhibition runs from 6 - 22 January 2017

At the request of our international collectors, Gajah Gallery is proud to reopen 'Between History and the Quotidian', a stunning solo exhibition by Indonesian contemporary artist Mangu Putra. Held during Singapore's illustrious Art Week, which draws in thousands of art collectors from all over the world every year, Mangu Putra's historic show is a highlight not to be missed.

This exhibition follows the artist's decade-long research interest in uncovering the stories of Indonesian veterans and the surviving fighters of Indonesia's revolution: a generation of men who have been marginalized by history. Using archival colonial photographs published by Dutch institutions, Mangu Putra re-imagines the pictorial narrative by placing the Balinese people at the center.

Visit our gallery in Tanjong Pagar and keep a look out on our FB and Instagram for more updates. See you next week in Singapore!
